Approach: The
tool captures accounting controls and the financial statement assertions
(completeness, presentation, etc) used by
the external auditors that the controls are intended to meet. Capturing
scoping information allows management to adjust the scope of the testing and other
compliance work based on assertion coverage and materiality as it
fluctuates. |

Standardized reports: The
solution provides a number of standardized reports and filters
that meet the needs of most users. 2 key reports are the control
report and the test plan report. Each of these are available
with the ability to filter the controls and reports numerous
different ways. Of course, the standard control
and test Plan reports are centralized for easy customization. |

Integration with Excel: Test
Results are collected via Excel, an auditor’s favorite tool, after the
application creates a custom template with the test steps embedded.
Management status roll-ups are provided as Excel pivot tables to
encourage detailed analysis of compliance progress. See the video at

Secure but Simple: Because the system uses
security integrated in the database, it is a highly secure solution. The use of roles and feature
based security makes the highly secure system manageable by end-users.
The feature based security (i.e. create controls vs record test results)
is a strong feature in environments where separation of duties is a
