delivered in version 9 of the Software Development Kit (SDK). Solutions
already delivered include

These projects use the .NET ClickOnce technology to help
ensure clients are using the latest version of the
application. It will automatically check for updates every
time you start the application.
When new updates are available, you will have the
option to download and install the updated version of the
application. This functionality cannot be disabled. No information used for the update process will be
used to identify or contact you.
Note: Applications require network connectivity. If a network connection is
not present, the application will run without checking for updates.
